Here at Visions and Revisions I aim to do just what the title implies: see and…re-see. If that sounds vague, good; this blog is a personal outlet where I can share what I’m reading, watching, hearing, and thinking, so things could carry pretty far afield. Still, you can expect that my thoughts will usually return to subjects of literature, poetry, biblical theology, culture, and the Church.
My name is Sean Johnson. I am currently a graduate student of Literature at the University of Dallas (TX), and took my Bachelor’s degree from New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, ID. I live as an Oregonian-in-exile with my lovely southern-born wife and, in addition to the things mentioned above, enjoy cooking, eating, microbrews, and good scotch. I also contribute regularly to the Kuyperian Commentary, a blog for biblically-minded consideration of politics, economics, and culture.
If you have thoughts about what you’ve read or want to get in touch, I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
And indeed there will be time
….time for all the works and days of hands
That lift and drop a question on your plate;
Time for you and time for me,
And time yet for a hundred indecisions
And for a hundred visions and revisions
Before the taking of a toast and tea.
– T.S. Eliot, “The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock”
